Albertrani rode in 685 races finishing a record of 49 wins, 70 seconds and 68 thirds as a jockey. He learnt the art of training horses from his uncle; spent nine years as Mott̢۪s top New York assistant. Some other trainers with whom Albertrani worked include Howie Tesher, Norman Casse, P.G. Johnson, Jack Van Berg and LeRoy Jolley; assisted the main Godolphin trainer Saeed bin Suroor in 1995. His top winners include Street Cry, Imperial Gesture, Sakhee, Fantastic Light and Daylami. While he was with Bin Suroor, Godolphin won 85 grade 1 and group 1 races. He and his brother both enjoyed Breeders̢ ۪ Cup victories at Gulfstream in the same day in 1999.

Godolphin earned Dubai and US assignments in the last two years he worked for Godolphin. Albertrani began training in New York City with ten horses for Darley in 2003; opened a public stable in October 2005; recorded first victory as a trainer on September 4, 2004 with Swither. In 2006, Albertrani came in the frontline with Bernardini, winner of five consecutive stakes including the Preakness and Jockey Club Gold Cup and multiple stakes winners Deputy Glitters and Songster. Through October 8, 2006 Albertrani won 28 races in North America.
