Notes: Shaun Bridgmohan cherished to become a jockey since his childhood days. His interest in racing started growing by attending the tracks on weekends with his father Gerald, an avid fan of horseracing. Started his career as a hot walker before moving up to be a groom and within a few years, an exercise rider. His first win came at Calder in 1997 riding Glitter Lad; moved to Aqueduct in 1998 to achieve the Eclipse Award as the top apprentice jockey that year; ranked among the top ten riders from 1998-2003. Bridgmohan posted his first stakes win with Panama Canal in the New Move Handicap in 1998; first grade 1 victory in the 2001 Carter Handicap on Peeping Tom; received the Caribbean Sportsmen Award; rode at Arlington, Keeneland and Churchill Downs in 2005; raced at Gulfstream and Saratoga in 2006. He clinched three stakes at Gulfstream riding the Hal̢۪s Hope, Mr. Prospector and Aventura on January 7, 2006. |
