He worked under Randy Bradshaw, Lukas protégà ©, Mark Hennig at Kentucky Downs. Stewart establishe d his own stable in 1997 in Kentucky and at Fair Grounds. His family suffered a lot by Hurricane Katrina on New Orleans in 2005. |

Stewart registered his first stakes win with Rod and Staff in Turfway Park's Prairie Bayou Stakes in December 1997; won the Louisiana Derby with Kimberlite Pipe in 1999; clinched victory in the 2001 Breeders' Cup Distaff with Unbridled Elaine; was named as the leading trainer at Keeneland's spring meet in 2000.
