Million Seller wins $82,000 Monmouth Feature race
June 5, 2010OCEANPORT, N.J. (AP) -Jockey Jeremy Rose scored his third win on the Monmouth Park card Friday by guiding Million Seller to a half-length victory over Debonair Darling in the featured $82,000 race.
Million Seller covered the mile and 70 yards on the main course in 1:45 to win for the first time in five starts this year. The Graham Motion-trained, 4-year-old son of A.P. Indy paid $18.80, $10 and $8.20.
Debonair Darling, who set most of the pace and fought back gamely in the last sixteenth, returned $7 and $4.20. Classofsixtythree was another length back in the field of eight fillies and mares and earned $3.20 for show.
Check Point, the 2-1 favorite, finished fourth.
Rose also won the fourth race with Casanova Killer ($54.60) and the sixth with Short Shrift ($17.20).
