Piazza Di Spagna wins Belmont feature
June 5, 2010NEW YORK (AP) -Piazza Di Spagna rallied from last in the six-horse field to beat Keeping the Honor by three quarters of a length Thursday in the $42,000 feature on the turf at Belmont Park.
Rajiv Maragh guided the 5-year-old to his fourth win in 23 starts. Trained by Gary Sciacca, Piazza Di Spagna ran the 1 1-16 miles in 1:43.39 on the firm course.
The second-longest shot at 17-1, Piazza Di Spagna paid $36, $11.60 and $5.60. Keeping the Honor, the 6-5 favorite, returned $3 and $2.60. Macho Prado paid $3.40 to show.
