Conniption wins at Hollywood Park
May 21, 2010INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) -Conniption surged to the lead in the final sixteenth of a mile and defeated Turns My Head by 1 1/4 lengths to win Thursday's $44,800 feature at Hollywood Park.
Ridden by Brice Blanc, Conniption covered one mile on the turf in 1:36.09 and paid $6.20, $3.40 and $2.40 as the 2-1 wagering favorite.
Turns My Head returned $6.60 and $3.20, while Glendive was another 1 1/4 lengths back in third and paid $3 to show.
Ireland-bred Conniption won for the second time in five career starts and increased her earnings to $50,078.
