Musketier wins Elkhorn at Keeneland
April 24, 2010LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -Musketier beat Brass Hat by 1 3/4 lengths in the $200,000 Grade II Elkhorn at Keeneland on Friday, the last day of the track's spring meet.
The 8-year-old gray gelding, ridden by John Velazquez, ran 1 1/2 miles on the turf course in 2:31.32 in the race for 4-year-olds and older. Musketier paid $17.20, $9 and $7.40, Brass Hat returned $7.40 and $4.40, and Blushing Bear and paid $12 to show.
Owned by Johanna L. Glen-Teven, Musketier earned $120,000 to push his career total to $626,430. He has seven wins in 34 starts.
