ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) -Odds-on favorite Bourbon Bay and Santa Anita's top jockey Rafael Bejarano rallied three-wide in the stretch Sunday and beat long shot Unusual Suspect by a half-length to win the $150,000 San Juan Capistrano Invitational Handicap, the track's traditional closing-day marathon.

Bourbon Bay lay fourth in the early going, moved up to second in the stretch and passed pacesetter Skellytown to become just the third horse to sweep Santa Anita's three turf marathons.

The 4-year-old Irish-bred gelding also won the San Luis Obispo and San Luis Rey handicaps, and joins Kotashaan in 1993 and Astray in 1974 as the only horses to pull off the triple.

Trainer Neil Drysdale said Bourbon Bay has earned some stable time after all the long hauls.

``He's going to be getting a rest,'' Drysdale said. ``One mile-and-three-quarters was stretching it a bit. We're probably going to have a tired horse. Rafael gave him a picture perfect ride.''

Bejarano, a 27-year-old native of Peru, added to his runaway meet riding title with his 94th win. Joel Rosario was a distant second with 73.

Bourbon Bay covered 1 3/4 miles in 2:44.52 and paid $3.60, $2.80 and $2.60. Unusual Suspect rallied from ninth to second and paid $10.60 and $6.20. Skellytown paid $7.80 to show.

The winner earned $90,000 for his fifth victory in 13 starts, taking his career total to $388,424, most of it earned in the last three nights.

John Sadler was Santa Anita's top trainer for the second straight year. Sadler had 41 wins to top Bob Baffert's 34. Sadler's wins included seven stakes and came from 192 starts.
