Star of New York wins Big A feature
April 8, 2010NEW YORK (AP) -Star of New York beat Rises the Phoenix by 1 1/4 lengths Wednesday in the $53,000 allowance feature for New York breds at Aqueduct.
Ramon Dominguez was aboard for his fourth winner of the day as the 4-year-old colt ran the one mile in 1:36.32 on the fast track. Trained by Gary Contessa, Star of New York got his third win in 15 starts.
The 6-5 favorite, Star of New York paid $4.40, $2.40 and $2.20. Rises the Phoenix, the longest shot in the race at 48-1, returned $21 and $7.10. Good Law paid $3.10 to show.
