Kentucky Derby update for American Pharoah and Dortmund
April 28, 2015Kentucky Derby update for AMERICAN PHAROAH who jogged one lap around the track the wrong way this morning, typical for him two days after a work. Trainer Bob Baffert will walk a horse the day after a work, jog two days later, and then go back to galloping.
DORTMUND worked on Saturday, one day before American Pharoah, so he was back to galloping today after jogging yesterday. As fluid as he is when racing, sometimes he shuffles around at a light gallop when seen at Santa Anita, but he looked very well this morning. He obviously loves it here. Remember, he is one of the few horses in this race who already has won at Churchill Downs.
