ETOBICOKE, Ontario — Siyouma, patiently handled by regular rider Gerard Mosse, came from just off the pace to score by 1 3/4 lengths in Sunday’s Grade 1, $1 million E.P. Taylor Stakes.

The E.P. Taylor, a 1 1/4-mile turf race for fillies and mares, is a Win and You’re In race for the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf.

But Francois Doumen, who trains the 4-year-old Siyouma for owner Robert Jeffcock, said Siyouma would be headed for the other side of the globe with Hong Kong the most likely destination of her next start.

Siyouma , trained in France but coming off a win in the Grade 1 Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket, on Sept. 29, returned $7.70 as the lukewarm favorite.

“To be honest, I was not worried about the track, the ground, and the filly,” said Mosse. “I was just a bit worried. Two weeks ago she was in the U.K. and we won a Group 1 race.

“It was a bit short in timing, but I told the trainer that if I chose to come it means we are coming for something solid.”

Pagera, another 4-year-old invading from France, finished second at 13-1 to complete a $71.70 exacta.

Dream Peace, trained in New York by Chad Brown, finished third, a neck behind the runner-up, at 3-1 with locally based Kissable another three-quarters of a length back in fourth.
