Afleeting Lady wins Monmouth Park featured race
September 3, 2012OCEANPORT, N.J. (AP) - Afleeting Lady took command around the far turn and scored a 4 1/2-length victory over Daddy's Honor in the $75,000 Lady's Secret Stakes at Monmouth Park on Monday.
Trained by Dale Romans, Afleeting Lady covered the mile and a sixteenth in 1:43 4/5. The Chris DeCarlo-ridden 5-year-old filly returned $6, $3.80 and $2.60 in winning for the fifth time in 18 career starts.
Daddy's Honor $8 and $4. It was another half-length back to favored Successful Song, paid $2.40 to show.
"Chris gave her the perfect ride," owner-breeder Bill Cubbage said. "He rode her to a 'T' even though it was his first time on her. They came around the far turn and she was rolling. She ran great."
