Circa'sgoldengear takes feature on Del Mar turf
August 16, 2012DEL MAR, Calif. (AP) - Circa'sgoldengear held off favorite Red Defense by 1 3/4 lengths Thursday in the $88,740 sprint allowance at Del Mar.
Ridden by Joe Talamo, Circa'sgoldengear ran five furlongs on the turf course in 55.63, and paid $10.20, $3.80 and $2.80 for his third victory in 14 starts. The 5-year-old gelding is trained and partly owned by Blake Heap
Red Defense returned $2.60 and $2.20, and Fast N Furius Cat paid $2.80 to show.
