OCEANPORT, N.J. (AP) - Turbo Compressor led wire-to-wire in the $500,000 United Nations Stakes at Monmouth Park on Saturday, beating Air Support by 1 3/4 lengths.

Ridden by Joe Bravo and trained by Todd Pletcher, the 4-year-old ridgling ran 1 3/8 miles over the firm turf course in 2:12.88 and returned $7, $4.20 and $3.20. The victory in the Grade 1 race was the seventh win in 14 career starts for Turbo Compressor and earned him a guaranteed spot in the $3 million Breeders' Cup Turf race at Santa Anita in November.

Air Support paid $5.40 and $3.20, while Al Khali was another two lengths back in third and paid $4. Betting favorite Slim Shadey was never a factor, finishing fifth in the field of seven horses.
