C C's Pal wins Belmont's Vagrancy Handicap
June 2, 2012NEW YORK (AP) - C C's Pal held off Nicole H by a neck on Saturday to win the $200,000 Vagrancy Handicap for fillies and mares at Belmont Park.
The early pacesetter, C C's Pal was headed by Nicole H, the 8-5 favorite, in deep stretch before battling back to earn her eighth win in 29 starts, and first graded stakes victory.
Junior Alvarado was aboard for trainer Rick Dutrow as the 5-year-old ran the 6 1-2 furlongs in 1:16.10.
C C's Pal paid $5.70, $2.90 and $2.30. Nicole H returned $2.90 and $2.20 while She's Cheeky paid $2.60 to show.
