Corporate Jungle wins Monmouth Park feature
May 19, 2012OCEANPORT, N.J. (AP) - Corporate Jungle rallied in the deep stretch to beat Successful Mission by a half-length in the $75,000 Elkwood Stakes at Monmouth Park on Saturday.
Ridden by Paco Lopez and trained by Chad Brown, the 4-year-old colt covered the mile over a firm turf course in 1:32 3/5 to win his second straight stakes race and post his fourth victory in seven career starts. Corporate Jungle also boosted his overall earnings to $172,260.
Successful Mission, who the Elkwood Stakes last year, finished a half-length ahead of Get Serious while Gourmet Dinner was a head back in fourth.
Corporate Jungle returned $3.40, $2.40, and $2.20. Successful Mission paid $5.60 and $4, while Gourmet Dinner paid $6.60.
