Hyper wins Belmont feature
May 18, 2012NEW YORK (AP) - Hyper extended his winning streak to five, beating Clear Attempt by a nose in the $79,000 allowance feature on the turf at Belmont Park.
The streak started with three wins in Florida, followed by two in New York for trainer Chad Brown. Overall, the 5-year-old improved to 7 for 12.
Jose Lezcano was aboard for the 1 1-8 miles in 1:47.95 over the firm course.
Hyper paid $7.40, $3.80 and $3.30 on Friday. Clear Attempt returned $5.90 and $4.50 while Belo Acteon paid $2.90 to show as the 3-2 favorite.
