Kentucky Derby TV viewership up from last year

NEW YORK (AP) - The Kentucky Derby's television viewership is up from last year.

Saturday's race earned a 9.0 rating and 20 share on NBC. The network said Tuesday that was a 6 percent increase from 2011.

The Derby was won by 15-1 long shot I'll Have Another.

Ratings represent the percentage of all American homes with televisions watching a program, while shares represent the percentage of all TVs in use at the time.
