Mobilized wins Santa Anita feature
March 30, 2012ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) - Mobilized defeated Supreme Summit by a half-length to win the $75,418 Charleston Purse at Santa Anita on Friday, his first victory since November 2010.
Ridden by Garrett Gomez, Mobilized ran 6 1-2 furlongs on the downhill turf course in 1:12.55 and paid $17.40, $7.40 and $4.20.
Supreme Summit returned $5.40 and $3.20, while 9-5 favorite Victory Pete was another head back in third and paid $3.20 to show.
Mobilized had spent nine months on the sidelines with a chipped knee before finishing sixth in his March 4 comeback in the Joe Hernandez Stakes.
The victory, worth $49,140, increased Mobilized's career earnings to $288,830, with five wins in 21 starts. He won for the first time in nine starts on the turf.
