Flat Bold wins Big A's Time Tested Stakes
March 18, 2012NEW YORK (AP) - Flat Bold, the 3-2 favorite, escaped a traffic jam to beat Leave of Absence by 11/4 lengths Sunday in the $73,500 Time Tested Stakes at Aqueduct.
Trapped behind rivals for most of the stretch run, Flat Bold and jockey Ramon Dominguez sprung free in time for the 6-year-old gelding to earn his sixth win in 28 starts. The time was 1:11.11 for the six furlongs on fast track.
Flat Bold, trained by Rudy Rodriguez, paid $5.10, $2.80 and $2.20. Leave of Absence returned $2.40 and $2.10 while Sam Sparkle paid $3.10 to show.
