Zucchini Flower wins Big A's Limit Stakes
March 14, 2012NEW YORK (AP) - Zucchini Flower rallied to beat Wicked Mizz by a nose in the $75,000 Limit Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at Aqueduct on Wednesday.
Zucchini Flower, splitting rivals turning for home in her New York debut, went on to her second win in five starts. Ridden by Alan Garcia and trained in Maryland by Graham Motion, the chestnut ran the one mile in 1:41.24.
Zucchini Flower paid $10, $4.70 and $3.10. Wicked Mizz returned $3.80 and $2.90, and Lisa T., the 8-5 favorite, paid $2.20 to show.
