Trinniberg wins Swale Stakes at Gulfstream
March 10, 2012HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Trinniberg won the $150,000 Swale Stakes at Gulfstream Park on Saturday, beating 45-to-1 long-shot Hello Prince by six lengths.
Trinniberg was making his first start since a disappointing seventh-place finish in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Sprint at Churchill Downs. With Willie Martinez aboard, he ran seven furlongs on a fast track in 1:21:69 and paid $17.20, $9.60 and $7.60.
Hello Prince returned $38.50 and $12.80, and favored Ever So Lucky was third paid $2.80 to show in the field of 10 3-year-olds.
Trinniberg is owned by Shivananda Parbhoo and trained by Parboo's father, Bisnath.
