Leroy's Dynameaux wins at Santa Anita
March 2, 2012ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) - Leroy's Dynameaux rallied on the far outside to beat Supreme Summit by 11/4 lengths and win the $65,618 Excess Purse on Friday at Santa Anita.
Ridden by Rafael Bejarano, Leroy's Dynameaux ran one mile on the turf in 1:34.39 and paid $7.20, $3.80 and $2.60.
Supreme Summit returned $5.80 and $3.20, while Red Defense was another nose back in third and paid $3.20 to show. Pathfork, the 3-2 favorite, faded to last after leading by eight lengths on the backstretch.
Leroy's Dynameaux had won just once in his previous 14 starts. The victory, worth $37,800, increased the gelding's career earnings to $269,112, with four wins in 20 starts.
