Sweet Seventeen wins Busher Stakes at Aqueduct
February 25, 2012NEW YORK (AP) - Sweet Seventeen, the even-money favorite, beat Off Limits by a head Saturday in the $75,000 Busher Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at Aqueduct.
Never worse than second at any point, Sweet Seventeen and jockey Alan Garcia took charge in midstretch and braced for the late run from Off Limits. Trained by Graham Motion, Sweet Seventeen is 3-2-0 in five starts. She paid $4.10, $2.50 and $2.10.
Off Limits, coupled in the betting with fourth-place finisher Lisa T., returned $2.50 and $2.10, while Better Lucky paid $2.50 to show.
