Judicial Leader wins Big A feature
February 1, 2012NEW YORK (AP) - Judicial Leader, the 2-5 favorite, extended her winning streak at Aqueduct to four on Wednesday afternoon with a neck win over Silver Chest in the $40,000 handicap feature for fillies and mares.
Trapped behind rivals turning for home, Judicial Leader and rider Alan Garcia angled to the far outside to launch the rally that produced her eighth win in 39 starts. It was the second training victory of the day for Chris Englehart, whose son Jeremiah also saddled a winner on the card.
The time was 1:45.74 for the one mile, 70 yards on the fast track.
Judicial Leader paid $2.80, $2.10 and $2.10. Silver Chest returned $2.80 and $2.20 while Pelican Lake paid $3 to show.
