Hard Mystery wins the Biogio's Rose Stakes
January 19, 2012NEW YORK (AP) - Hard Mystery beat Bourbonstreetgirl, the 4-5 favorite, by 2 3/4 lengths Thursday in the $75,000 Biogio's Rose Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at Aqueduct.
Ramon Dominguez was aboard for trainer George Weaver as Hard Mystery scooted up the rail at the top of the stretch for her second win in five starts. The 5-1 shot easily got the jump on Bourbonstreetgirl, who rallied widest of all.
The time was 1:45.14 for the one mile, 70 yards.
Hard Mystery paid $13.40, $4 and $2.60. Bourbonstreetgirl returned $2.70 and $2.10, while Love Contract paid $2.30 to show.
