4 British jockeys convicted of corruption
December 14, 2011LONDON (AP) - The British Horseracing Authority has found four jockeys guilty of corruption offenses after an investigation into suspicious betting.
Jimmy Quinn, Kirsty Milczarek, Greg Fairley and Paul Doe were all found in breach of various rules following an investigation into 10 races in 2009 in which large bets were placed on horses to lose.
The BHA is yet to announce its full findings or possible sanctions.
Milczarek has already announced that she will appeal against the conviction which relates to her ride aboard Obe Gold at Lingfield on Aug. 15, 2009.
A fifth jockey, Paul Fitzsimons, was cleared by the BHA.
