INGLEWOOD, Calif. Stakes winners Longview Drive and Lucky Chappy will miss Saturdays $750,000 CashCall Futurity at Hollywood Park, but the race will include the sharp maiden winner Blingo, a late addition to the field.

The Grade 1 CashCall Futurity has drawn 13 2-year-olds, four of which are stakes winners.

Longview Drive, who won the Charlie Palmer Futurity at Fresno in October, will be pointed to the $100,000 Sham Stakes at Santa Anita on Jan. 7, according to Dan Ward, assistant to trainer Jerry Hollendorfer.

Ward said the Sham is preferred so Longview Drive can stay on regular dirt. The CashCall Futurity is run on a Cushion Track synthetic surface. Santa Anita has a dirt surface.

Lucky Chappy, fourth in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf at Churchill Downs on Nov. 5, was not sent to California after contracting a fever.

Trainer Graham Motion said the fever was detected a day before Lucky Chappy was booked to travel on Wednesday.

He was supposed to ship today, and he had a fever of 102 yesterday afternoon, Motion said Wednesday. We couldnt do it. Its very frustrating.

Owned by the Team Valor International syndicate, Lucky Chappy was a stakes winner in Italy in July and was third in the Grade 3 Bourbon Stakes on turf at Keeneland in his U.S. debut in October. In the Grade 1 BC Juvenile Turf, Lucky Chappy was beaten 3 1/2 lengths by Wrote.

Motion said that Lucky Chappy will be shipped to Florida at the end of December and is likely to race there in early 2012.

Blingo won a maiden race over a mile on turf in his debut Nov. 25, closing from 10th in a field of 11 to win by 2 1/4 lengths. Owned by Jerry and Ann Moss, Blingo is trained by John Shirreffs.

Weve always thought he was a nice horse because he has a nice way of going, Shirrreffs said. This is a big purse. If it looks too tough, we can always scratch. We are looking for graded money at this time of year.

Graded stakes earnings determine the 20 runners for the Kentucky Derby, if the race oversubscribes.

The four stakes winners in the field are Drill (Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity in September), Liaison (Real Quiet Stakes on Nov. 12), Majestic City (two sprint stakes in June and July), and Rousing Sermon (California Cup Juvenile in October).

Rousing Sermon was second, a half-length behind Liaison, in the Real Quiet two weeks after winning the Cal Cup.

It was only two weeks between races, and he runs well fresh, Ward said. He gave the winner six pounds, and that makes a difference.

All 13 of the entrants in the CashCall Futurity will carry 121 pounds.
