Celestial Kitten wins Hollywood Park feature
December 8, 2011INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) - Celestial Kitten defeated Whisper Louise by a head to win the $62,400 Spearfish Stakes at Hollywood Park on Thursday.
Ridden by Rafael Bejarano, Celestial Kitten ran a mile on the turf in 1:35.74 and paid $6.20, $3.40 and $2.20 as the 2-1 favorite.
Whisper Louise returned $3.80 and $2.40. Anniversary Girl was another half-length back in third and paid $2.20 to show.
It was Celestial Kitten's second win in 12 career starts. She has earned $167,651.
Bejarano rode another winner on the card and is tied with Joel Rosario atop the jockeys' standings with 23 each with eight days left in the autumn meet.
