Turbo Compressor, My Pal Chrisy win

MIAMI (AP) - Turbo Compressor and long-shot My Pal Chrisy won $150,000 races Saturday in Calder Race Course's Florida Million day.

In addition to the $150,000 Carl G. Rose Classic and Elmer Heubeck Distaff Handicap, there were four $125,000 stakes and two at $100,000 - all restricted to registered Florida breds.

Turbo Compressor went to the front at the start of the 1 1/8-mile Rose Classic and won by 10 1/2 lengths.

Ridden by Luis Saez, Turbo Compressor finished in 1:51 4-5 and paid $8.40, $4.40 and $2.60. Manicero returned $3.80 and $2.40, and Mad Flatter paid $2.10 to show.

Turbo Compressor, the 3-year-old owned by P and G Stables and Off The Hook Racing, has won four of nine starts and $246,780.

My Pal Chrisy rallied to beat Sweet Repent by 3 1/4 lengths in the Heubeck.

Ridden by Luca Panici, My Pal Chrisy ran 1 1-16 miles in 1:45 3-5 and paid $21.80, $5.20 and $4. Sweet Repent returned $3 and $2.10, and Callmethesqueeze paid $3.40 to show. The 3-year-old filly has won six of 20 starts, with earnings of $227,160.

Saez scored another front-running victory aboard Yara in the $125,000 Joe O'Farrell Juvenile Fillies. Yara won by 5 1/2 lengths, running 7 furlongs in 1:24 4-5. For Oby edged Rev It Up by a half-length in the $125,000 Jack Prince Juvenile. The winner ran 7 furlongs in 1:24 4-5.

The largest win payoff of the day came in the $125,000 Jack Dudley Sprint when Gibson, making his first stakes start, won by 6 1/2 lengths and paid $71.20. Gibson ran six furlongs in 1:10 2-5.

Also, Bad Debt won the $125,000 Bonnie Heath Turf Cup, Italo took the $100,000 Arthur I. Appleton Juvenile Turf, and Sinister Brew took the $100,000 John Franks Juvenile Fillies.
