Senator Bob wins feature at Hollywood Park
November 10, 2011INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) - Senator Bob led gate-to-wire to win the $61,106 feature by 2 1-4 lengths on opening day of Hollywood Park's autumn meet Thursday.
Ridden by Patrick Valenzuela, Senator Bob ran one mile on the turf in 1:34.66 and paid $10.40, $6 and $4.40 as the 4-1 second choice in ending a three-race losing skid.
Pride of Silver returned $8.20 and $5 in his first start on the turf, while Bailouttheminister was another head back in third and paid $7.80 to show.
Senator Bob has four wins in 28 career starts and earnings of $178,823. He is 2-for-2 on the turf at Hollywood Park.
Joel Rosario rode four winners on the card, duplicating his feat from the spring-summer meet, when he was the leading rider.
Earlier, trainer Mike Mitchell won his 857th race at the track, putting him two behind Charlie Whittingham for second all-time. The late Bobby Frankel leads with 952.
