Caleb's Posse rallies to win BC Dirt Mile
November 5, 2011LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Caleb's Posse came charging down the stretch to overtake pacesetter Shackleford and win the $1 million Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile by four lengths.
Ridden by Rajiv Maragh, Caleb's Posse ran one mile in 1:34.59 on Saturday at Churchill Downs. The 3-year-old colt paid $15.60 at 6-1 odds.
Shackleford was second and Tres Borrachos was another 1 3/4 lengths back in third.
Caleb's Posse's previous biggest victory was over Uncle Mo in the King's Bishop at Saratoga in August. Uncle Mo was the morning-line favorite in the $5 million Classic later Saturday.
