LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Sanagas took the lead in the stretch and held on to win the 17th running of the Grade III $100,000 Sycamore by a half-length on Thursday at Keeneland.

Sanagas, ridden by Rajiv Maragh, covered the distance in 2:39.40 to beat the previous mark of 2:42.69 set by Jade's Revenge in April 2008.

The race was to be run at 1 1/2 miles on the turf, but was moved to the main track and raced at 1 5/8 miles because of rain.

Sanagas paid $5.80, $4.40 and $2.80. Tahoe Lake returned $9.80 and $3.20, while favored Center Divider was 2 1/4 lengths back in third and paid $2.60.

The winner, a 5-year-old son of Lomitas, earned $60,000 for his sixth win in nine starts to increase his career total to $132,282.
