Customer Base wins Keeneland feature
October 19, 2011LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Favored Customer Base took the lead inside the eighth pole and beat Dream Pegasus by 1 1/2 lengths Wednesday in the $52,000 Courthouse Purse at Keeneland.
The daughter of Lemon Drop Kid, ridden by Julien Leparoux, ran 1 1/16 miles on the main track in 1:42.23 in the test for 2-year-old fillies to remain unbeaten in two starts. The race was scheduled for a mile on the turf but was moved because of rain.
Customer Base paid $4.20, $3.20 and $2.60. Dream Pegasus returned $5 and $3.40, and Little Nip paid $5.20 to show.
Owned by Glen Hill Farm, Customer Base earned $31,200 to increase her career total to $69,000.
