LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - A half-sister to Shared Account brought the top price of $1.2 million during the third session of Keeneland's September Yearling Sale.

The filly was consigned by Catherine Parke's Valkyre Stud and purchased by Benjamin Leon on Tuesday. The purchase price is the most paid for a yearling filly at public auction in North America this year, Keeneland said.

The filly is by Bernardini out of the graded stakes-winning Smart Strike mare Silk n' Sapphire. Shared Account won the 2010 Grade I Emirates Airline Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf.

Keeneland sold 200 horses Tuesday for $32,756,500, up 20 percent from 2010 when 204 horses brought $27,292,000. The average price increased 22.4 percent from $133,784 to $163,783.

The sale continues daily, except this Friday, through Sept. 24.
