Turallure wins Baruch at Saratoga
August 26, 2011SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) - Turallure rallied strongly to overtake favored Get Stormy in the deep stretch and went on to win the $200,000 Bernard Baruch Handicap by 21/4 lengths Friday at Saratoga Race Course.
Julien Leparoux rode the Charles Lopresti-trained 4-year-old, whose decisive late move denied Get Stormy a second straight win in the Baruch. He ran 1 1-8 miles over the main turf course, which was labeled good, in 1:48.75 and earned $120,000 for owner Donna Arnold.
Turallure paid $20, $8.20 and $5.70. Get Stormy returned $4.10 and $2.80 and Baryshnikov, third in the field of 11, paid $5 to show.
