Bailouttheminister wins at Del Mar
August 18, 2011DEL MAR, Calif. (AP) - Bailouttheminister beat Aliza's Dream by 11/2 lengths Thursday in the feature at Del Mar.
Ridden by Joel Rosario, Bailouttheminister covered 5 furlongs on the turf coursein 56.33 and paid $18.40, $10.40 and $6. Aliza's Dream returned $15.60 and $6.40, and Bolinas paid $3.80 to show.
Rosario was unseated in the stretch of the fifth race when his mount, Ali's Lake, sustained a serious injury to her right foreleg. Rosario wasn't hurt. Ali's Lake had to be euthanized.
The win aboard Bailouthteminister was Rosario's second of the day and 24th of the season, moving him into a tie atop the standings with Rafael Bejarano and Joe Talamo.
