Big Blue Kitten takes Hall of Fame
August 12, 2011SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) - Big Blue Kitten found a narrow seam on the rail, took command in the deep stretch and beat Perregaux by 11/4 lengths Friday in the $150,000 National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame Stakes for 3-year-olds at Saratoga Race Course.
John Velazquez rode the Chad Brown-trained Big Blue Kitten, who ran 1 1-16 miles over the inner turf course in 1:42.91 for his fifth consecutive win and first in stakes-class company. Big Blue Kitten earned $90,000 for owners Kenneth and Sarah Ramsey and paid $11, $6 and $4.
Perregaux returned $15.40 and $7.10, and Humble and Hungry paid $4.60.
