Turbo Compressor wins Curlin at Saratoga
July 29, 2011SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) - Turbo Compressor led from gate to wire and drew away in the stretch to win the $75,000 Curlin Stakes for 3-year-olds by 23/4 lengths over favored Raison d'Etat in a field of six at Saratoga Race Course on Friday.
Javier Castellano rode the Todd Pletcher-trained Turbo Compressor, who ran 1 1/8 miles in 1:51.12 and paid $15.20, $6.10 and $4.00. Raison d'Etat earned $3.60 and $2.90, and Prime Cut returned $3.50 to show.
Turbo Compressor earned $45,000 for his owners, P and G Stables and Off The Hook Racing. The Curlin was Turbo Compressor's third win from six starts.
