INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) - Diamond Journey defeated Screaming Regal by one length to win the $52,400 optional claimer for California bred fillies and mares at Hollywood Park on Thursday.

Ridden by Martin Garcia, Diamond Journey covered 1 1-16 miles on the synthetic Cushion Track in 1:44.43 and paid $8.40, $4 and $2.60 as the 3-1 second choice.

Screaming Regal returned $2.60 and $2.10, while Meltarib paid $2.60 to show.

The victory increased Diamond Journey's career earnings to $82,420.
