Rogue Victory wins the Belmont feature
June 2, 2011NEW YORK (AP) - Rogue Victory rallied to beat the pacesetting Dominant Jeannes by 11/4 lengths Thursday in the $55,000 allowance feature on the turf at Belmont Park.
Ramon Dominguez guided the 6-year-old chestnut to his sixth win in 27 starts. The time was 1:42.99 for the 1 1-16 miles on the firm turf.
Trained by George Weaver, Rogue Victory paid $7.40, $4.40 and $3. Dominant Jeannes returned $6.40 and $3.80 while Colonialism, $2.60, got third as the 2-1 favorite.
While Dominguez captured the richest event, Javier Castellano was the riding star of the afternoon with five wins.
