Streakin' Mohican wins Hollywood Park feature
May 21, 2011INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) - Streakin' Mohican won Friday's Hollywood Park Feature, leading gate-to-wire and beating favorite Cherokee Heaven less than two weeks after losing as the favorite in a race on the Kentucky Derby undercard at Churchill Downs.
Making his turf debut under jockey Corey Nakatani, Streakin' Mohican went straight to the front of the field of six in the $57,710 allowance and never yielded, leading by two lengths for most of the race and beating Cherokee Heaven by 1 1/4 lengths.
Streakin' Mohican covered six furlongs in 1:08.55 and paid $9.20, $3.20 and $2.60. Cherokee Heaven paid $2.40 and $2.10. Raetodandty was third and paid $2.40 to show.
Streakin' Mohican has won seven times in 23 career starts and earned a total of $219,089.
