Santa Anita to host fall racing again
May 13, 2011ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) - Santa Anita will again host racing in the fall after a one-year absence.
Track officials announced Friday that the six-week meet will open in September and run through Nov. 6, pending approval by the California Horse Racing Board.
Previously, Santa Anita's fall dates had been run under the operation of the Oak Tree Racing Association from 1969 until last year, when they were given to Hollywood Park in Inglewood.
Santa Anita's fall meet will have a full schedule of stakes races generally consistent with the previous schedule, including the Lady's Secret, Goodwood, Norfolk, Oak Leaf, Yellow Ribbon and Ancient Title.
