LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Archarcharch owner Bob Yagos says the colt has been retired from racing after fracturing his left front leg during Saturday's Kentucky Derby.

Yagos and trainer Jinks Fires told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette the decision was made after noted surgeon Larry Bramlage treated the Arkansas Derby winner Sunday morning. Yagos and Fires did not immediately return messages left Monday.

Archarcharch had pins inserted to repair the fracture following a 15th-place finish on Saturday, and Fires said then that the colt's racing future was uncertain. Fires said Bramlage found more extensive problems.

Fires also said Bramlage was certain the injury occurred when the colt stumbled leaving the gate.

Archarcharch, who also won the Southwest Stakes at Oaklawn Park, retires with three wins in seven starts and earnings of $832,744.
