Hockley takes the Aqueduct feature
April 21, 2011NEW YORK (AP) - Hockley, the 6-5 favorite, returned from a lengthy layoff on Thursday to win the $47,000 allowance feature at Aqueduct.
In his first race since last July at Del Mar, Hockley opened a 2 1/4-length lead at the top of the stretch and held on for a half-length victory over the rallying Dominant Jeannes. Eddie Castro rode for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin as Hockley ran the mile on the turf in 1:39.37.
Hockley, now 3 for 7, paid $4.70, $2.70 and $2.60. Dominant Jeannes returned $3.10 and $2.90. Crew paid $4.20 to show.
