Alex Ferguson's horse among Grand National runners
April 8, 2011LONDON (AP) - Alex Ferguson may be worried about more than just Manchester United's result on Saturday - his horse is among the favorites in the Grand National steeplechase at Aintree.
Ferguson's Premier League leaders host Fulham on Saturday. That's also when What A Friend, a 9-year-old gelding he part owns, runs in one of horse racing's most grueling events.
What A Friend has odds at 12-1 in a race that features a 40-horse field and 30 tough fences.
What A Friend, ridden by Daryl Jacob, will be looking to deliver a first Grand National triumph for champion trainer Paul Nicholls. He hasn't won the race in 48 attempts.
The Grand National, a British sporting institution since 1839, will be watched by an expected sellout crowd of 73,000 at Aintree.
