Unbeaten Uncle Mo is 1-5 favorite in Wood Memorial
April 6, 2011NEW YORK (AP) - Unbeaten Uncle Mo has been made the overwhelming 1-5 favorite in a 10-horse field entered for Saturday $1 million Wood Memorial.
The leading Kentucky Derby contender arrived at New York's Aqueduct Racetrack on Wednesday after a flight from Florida, and was led off a van and into trainer Todd Pletcher's barn.
The 3-year-old colt drew the No. 5 post, and will try to improve his record to 5-0 in the 1 1/8-mile Wood. The race will be Uncle Mo's final prep before the Derby on May 7.
Toby's Corner, third in the Gotham after winning the Whirlaway, is the second choice at 8-1. Arthur's Tale is 12-1.
Also entered: Starship Caesar, Full of Scoundrels, Preachintothedevil, Duca, Norman Asbjornson, Isn't He Perfect and Son of Posse.
