Dialed In rings up right number for Kentucky Derby
April 4, 2011Now that Dialed In has chimed in with a big race, Hall of Fame trainer Nick Zito finds himself with one of the likely favorites for the Kentucky Derby.
The 3-year-old colt rallied from last place to win the Florida Derby at Gulfstream Park over the weekend and moves to No. 2 in The Associated Press' latest Top 10 list of Kentucky Derby contenders.
Zito has won the Derby twice, although he is 0-for-21 since winning his second Run for the Roses in 1994 with Go for Gin. He won in 1991 with Strike the Gold.
Uncle Mo remains No. 1 and puts his 4-0 record on the line Saturday in the Wood Memorial at Aqueduct in his final Derby prep.
Soldat was fifth in the Florida Derby and drops six spots to No. 9. Stay Thirsty ran seventh and falls out of the Top 10.
