Dubawi Heights wins at Santa Anita
April 1, 2011ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) - Dubawi Heights defeated Warren's Got Game by 13/4 lengths to win Friday's $59,248 Abbey Road Purse for fillies and mares at Santa Anita.
Ridden by Joel Rosario, Dubawi Heights ran one mile on the turf in 1:35.50 and paid $3.80 and $2.60.
Warren's Got Game returned $2.80. Summer Games was another three-quarters of a length back in third. There was no show betting after the field was reduced to four by two late scratches.
It was Dubawi Heights' first start since November after being sidelined by small problems. She earned $380,796 as a two-year-old in Britain before coming to the U.S. last summer following an 11-month layoff because of surgery.
The 4-year-old Britain-bred filly won in her third U.S. start at Hollywood Park in November, but hadn't raced since then because of some minor problems.
The victory, worth $33,600, increased Dubawi Heights' career earnings to $445,196.
