DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) - Khawlah has won the $2 million UAE Derby, edging Master of Hounds in a photo finish and giving the stables of Dubai's ruler a second victory.

Khawlah's stablemate Xin Xu Lin set the pace Saturday before Master of Hounds took the lead. But Khawlah caught Master of Hounds in the stretch. Mahbooba came in third.

Khawlah is trained by Saeed bin Suroor, who won the UAE Derby for the seventh time. This was the first victory for a filly in the race's history.

Earlier, Skysurfers won the $1 million Godolphin Mile. Skysurfer and Khawlah are owned by Sheik Mohammed's Godolphin stables.
